uiuc.test column
================

This was just a troll, but there was talk of Wayne writing a column about
uiuc.test, one of the newsgroups I frequent.  If it happens, I'll write a
whole lot more.  As it stands, I'll just toss in the troll and a copy of
the email.

test_prelude.txt	An email that Wayne sent me in October asking
			about the uiuc.test FAQ and considering writing an
		 	article.  This was not part of his troll.

CITES Column
============

This article appeared in the Daily Illini (http://www.dailyillini.com/),
our local student paper, on Sep 10 2002.  It was amusing for a) its
complete lack of competence and b) its Usenet connection - the author had
tried asking his questions on various newsgroups and hadn't gotten
answers, so he assumed that he was being oppressed.  (To be fair, he did
mail several people as well).  My favorite questions:

  9.  I have heard rumors that CITES and housing do not get along well,
  and part of the URHnet contract reflects this--could you elaborate on
  this?

  10.  I have heard rumors that technicians and administration within
  CITES is in somewhat of a disarray with poor communication and
  uncoordinated activities within the staff--could you elaborate on this?

  14.  I hear last year, students in URHnet enjoyed an uncapped 100mb/s
  pipe. This year there is only 80mb/s available but students are capped at
  23mb/s. Why is it not economically feasible to give students uncapped 
  access to 80mb/s?

Perhaps you had to be there.  But I'm amused enough to archive this for
posterity.
