Skirv vs Shelley

My senior year at Uni High, I fought a fair amount with our new principal, Shelley Roberts. She was a consummate principal, excellent at saying something and sounding just like your best friend as she actually took things away from you. This was excellent for me; it meant that I could do the same. And so I laughed with her and enjoyed her company, even while I continued to fight against her whenever she tried to enter my turf. This offered an excellent set of lessons.

The TV

I'm not going to bother to explain the whole television saga here, because it is detailed much more closely here.

The VCR

About a week after I brought my TV, somebody (Drake?) brought a VCR as well. This was, however, actually confiscated and stayed gone. I tried to get it back, but she had the beginnings of an argument this time - "it could be used to watch R-rated movies!". Mind you, it wasn't a very good argument. Regardless, it was enough to keep it out...

Aftermath

I don't remember how much longer Shelley stuck around; it wasn't more than a couple of years after I left. I did later hear stories about students making her cry, and of her not allowing us to have a speech team because "nobody wanted one", but those were just stories...
